She always included me in any conversation, and it was so natural for her to make others feel cared for, loved, and valued. This gave Stephen and Jordan the opportunity to tease her about basket making, calling it moms therapy sessions. At a 1975 ACBA national convention in the United States, Lorna she was awarded Best Animal in Show, competing against hundreds of other animals, becoming the first person to ever to win Best in Show with an Abyssinian breed of cavy.
